At Co-op Academy Penny Oaks children in the Nursery and school are expected to wear the full school uniform at all times. We understand the benefits to the children of not being distracted by the dictates of fashion and believe that wearing their uniform gives them a sense of belonging to their school. We ask parents to support us by ensuring that their children are provided with a complete uniform, including a full P.E. kit, at all times. We also ask that ALL items of school uniform are labelled with the child’s name and we do not accept responsibility for the loss of items of clothing which are not clearly marked.
All children are expected to wear the correct colour uniform but in order to keep costs to a minimum we do not insist on branded items with the school logo.
At Penny Oaks we ensure that our school uniform is affordable and consider the total cost of school uniform, considering all items of uniform or clothing parents will need to provide while their child is at the school.
When choosing a uniform supplier, we will ensure that they give the highest priority to cost and value for money (including the quality and durability of the garment). We ensure that our uniform is available from more than one local supplier to provide parents with a wider choice and better value for money.
We ensure that second-hand uniforms are available for parents to acquire and that information about how to acquire this is posted on our website.
We will ensure that we engage with parents and pupils over any future school uniform changes.
Our School uniform:
Girls Boys
Black skirt/pinafore or trousers Black trousers
Primrose yellow polo shirt Primrose Yellow polo shirt
Forest Green jumper or cardigan Forest Green jumper
White, black or grey socks White, black or grey socks
Checked summer dress (yellow/green)
Plain black tights (not leggings)
All footwear should be entirely black - we prefer school shoes but trainers are acceptable as long as they are entirely black with no coloured markings
During the summer months, girls may wear green or yellow check/gingham summer dresses. They must not wear flimsy, strappy sandals as these carry safety risks when running in the playground.
PE Kit
White t-shirt
Black shorts, leggings or tracksuit bottoms
Black tracksuit top
Pair of trainers
Children in Reception class only:
P.E. kit must be kept in a drawstring P.E. bag which must have the child’s name on. ALL items of P.E. kit, including trainers, must have the child’s name on.
Children in Year 1 – 6:
PE kits are worn into school on the day of PE
Children in the Nursery do not require a PE Kit.
Jewellery
For health and safety reasons jewellery must not be worn, apart from one pair of ear studs and watches. Children will be asked to remove all other forms of jewellery.
Book Bag
Children in school will require a bookbag to enable them to take home a reading book, library book and any homework they may receive.
